Pre-Telling

Snow White magically appears from her book and says: Hello children, I’m Snow White! How are you today? Are you angry? Are you sleepy? Are you happy? I’m so happy!! (At this part, everybody sings this song).
When the song finishes, Snow White realizes that the room is very untidy, so she decides to tidy up the room with the children’s help, repeating twice or three times the important words children have to learn. In this moment Snow White starts singing: “It’s time to tidy up the room, it’s time to tidy up the room, it’s time to tidy up the room, put all the things in their corner”.
Snow White takes the things that are on the floor;
-This is an orange (x2).
-This is a banana (x2).
-This is a pear (x2).
-These are two books (x2)… but… where is the library?
(She puts the things in their corner).
-Wow! What’s this? It’s a box!!! What’s inside the box? (She tells to a pupil “open it…smell it…taste it… mmmmm… it’s an apple!!! Do you like apples? I don’t like apples… do you know why?”
“So… One, two, three, silence please,
three, two, one, yes we can!”

Telling

At this part, have to tell the story with simple vocabulary to facilitate the children’s understanding. We use simple gestures, kind voice and clear pronunciation. During the story we assure repetition of the key words we want them to learn.

v They have to tell what is happening in the story with their own words. And the other classmates can ask them questions about the tale.

Post-Telling

Finally, when the story is finished, all the room is untidy again, so Snow White asks for children’s help. The class is divided in several groups. These groups are going to tidy up the room as Snow White done in the pre-telling.
